Paver walkways for the front walk and the side path

When the front walk has cracked or lifted, or the way to the garage is a dirt track, we lay a paver walk in its place.

Book online and we'll call you back the same business day.

Straight walk of warm gray concrete pavers in running bond with a charcoal border row, crossing a backyard between beds of lavender, Mexican bush sage, blue fescue and yarrow to a brown-shingle Craftsman garage with wooden carriage doors

You cross the front walk every day without a thought, until a raised corner catches a toe or water sits by the porch steps. We lay paver walks out front, and along the side yard to the garage or the back gate.

The walks we lay, by part of the lot

  • The front walk. From the sidewalk or the driveway to the porch steps, set to meet the bottom step at a comfortable height.
  • The side path. Pavers or gravel along the house, so the side yard becomes the easy way round to the back.
  • The walk to the garage. A straight run across the backyard, often with a darker paver as a border row.
  • Stepping pads. In the parkway or through planting, where a full walk would be too much.

The walk itself usually tells you when it's time:

  • Concrete slabs cracked, or pushed up by roots into a trip edge
  • Water standing at the foot of the porch steps after rain
  • A dirt track worn down the side yard
  • Bins dragged across the lawn because there is no path to the street

Choosing the paver and the pattern

Pavers are cast in plenty of sizes and colors. Running bond, where each row shifts by half a paver, keeps a long straight walk looking tidy. A border row in a darker color frames the walk and makes a curve read cleanly from the street. On a Craftsman, warm grays and tans usually sit well with wood siding and river-rock piers.

Paver samples come with us to the yard visit. We set them down on the route, so you see them against the house and the driveway in your own light.

One crew lead runs your whole job.

Whoever walks the lot with you at the free visit runs the build and the final walkthrough, and you get their direct number that day. A question about the slope or the side gate goes to the person who measured it.

How a walk is priced

  • How long and how wide the walk is
  • The paver and the pattern you pick
  • What comes out: cracked concrete, roots or a dirt track
  • Steps, a landing at the porch or a border row
  • Curves, which mean more cut pavers
  • A drain for downspouts that leave puddles on the route

What the walk gets

  • A paver walk laid on the route you chose at the visit
  • The walk priced separately from any other part of the yard
  • Steps or a landing at the porch, if your quote includes them

Questions about paver walkways

Water sits at the foot of the porch steps. Can the new walk help?

Often, yes. If a downspout empties onto the route, we can add a drain for it along with the walk, and it has its own line on your quote.

Can the new walk go with the driveway?

Often it can come close. At the visit we hold the samples beside the driveway, so you can judge the color in daylight before you choose.

Can the side path be gravel instead of pavers?

Yes. Gravel suits a shaded side yard that only sees the bins and the garden hose, and pavers suit a path you walk every day. We price whichever you choose, and tell you which we would put there.
