Landscape design for a whole new yard or a steep slope
A steep slope or a whole new yard may need a plan first. If yours does, we price the plan at the yard visit, before any building is priced.
Book online and we'll call you back the same business day.

Most jobs don't need a plan. A new front walk or a patch of turf is measured at the visit and priced. A plan earns its place when several parts of the lot change at once, or when a slope decides where everything else can go. Then you see how the parkway, the front, the side yard and the back fit together before any of it is built.
When a yard needs a plan
- You are redoing the whole lot, from the parkway to the back fence
- A slope decides where a patio or steps can go
- The front and the back were done at different times and don't match
- You know the yard doesn't work, but not yet what should go where
One garden, front to back
Planned together, the front of the lot and the back can share a few plants and materials, so the yard reads as one garden from the street. The stone of the front walk can come back in the patio, and the same sages and grasses can run through each bed.

One crew lead runs your whole job.
Whoever walks the lot with you at the free visit runs the build and the final walkthrough, and you get their direct number that day. A question about the slope or the side gate goes to the person who measured it.

What the plan decides
- Where the patio and the paths go, and the steps between them
- Where a wall or terraces go, if a slope needs holding
- Where the beds go, and where the lawn comes out
- Which spots get turf and which get planting
- Where the drip or sprinkler lines need changing
How design works with us
- Yard visit. We come within 3 business days. You walk the lot with us while we measure it and ask how each part gets used.
- The price of the plan. If your yard needs one, we tell you at that visit what the plan will cost.
- The plan. It settles where each part of the yard goes, so the build can be priced part by part.
- Your quote. Each part of the yard has its own price on it, so you see what it all costs and decide what goes ahead.
- The build. We confirm the start date in writing, and the work runs until everything on your quote is done.
What the plan's price depends on
- How big the lot is
- How many parts of it change
- A slope, and how many levels it needs
- Walls, steps or terraces that need working out before they are priced
Questions about landscape design
Do I need a plan for a small job?
Usually not. A new walk or a patch of turf gets measured at the visit, and the quote follows by email within 1 business day of it.
What if we can't decide between turf and planting?
That's common. Wherever either could go, we price both and tell you which we'd choose for that spot, and why.
Does a slope on its own need a plan?
Only if it decides where a patio or steps can go. If it needs planting or one low wall, we measure it at the visit and price it like any other part.
